HOW TO COOK PORRIDGE YAM

Always start your day with prayer and give God thanks, because that is what Our Heavenly Father requires us to do. There is nothing on this planet earth we do that will please God other than our praise and thanksgiving. So my beloved we ought to give Him thanks at all times, weither in raining days or in sunny days. One other thing we should know is that it does not matter the ups and down we may be going through, because in all those problems there comes our solution and success,but it only depends on the way you see it. Learn to speak the right words and proclaime a positive situation at all time no matter what happens to you.

Porridge yam is a food that is not difficult to prepare, it is generally eaten by every one in our society (Nigeria).

INGREDIENTS NEEDED
(i) Water (ii) A tuber of yam (iii) Palm oil (iv) grounded cray fish (v) Grounded pepper (vi) Salt (vii) Seasoning cube (viii) Onion (ix) Dry fish (optional)

PROCEDURES
Step 1. Get your yam, peel off the shells, cut them into smaller piece ( the quantity you desire).
Step 2. Prepare a clean pot, wash the piece of yam very well for 2-3times with clean water.
Step 3. After washing the yam put them inside the clean pot, add water to it and place the pot on the cooker, allow it to boil for 5minutes.
Step 4. Open the pot, slice a bulb of onion put it along side the pepper, salt, seasoning cube, cray fish, dry fish, etc, cover the pot and allow for another 10minutes.
Step 5. Check if the yam is soft if it is very soft, you can then add the oil and stir very well for everything to be well mixed, leave it on the cooker for extra 10minutes for the oil and everything to be well cooked and blended, before putting it down.

TIPS
* If you are using dry fish, ensure that the gills are taken off and the fish well washed before you us it to cook.
* You can add vegetable leafs such as pumpkin leaf, azuza leaf, saint leaf, to the porridge to make it spicy and tasteful ( depending on you preference).
* If you want your porridge yam to be soupy its’ up to you to decide, if you want it dry its’ still up to you ( depending on what you want).
